Fraser Engineering
Work Responsibilities
Fraser Engineering manufactures firefighting equipment for New Zealand and Australian
fire departments. During my time at Fraser, I started as a CNC Mill Setter, which
involved precision engineering and an in-depth knowledge of metal properties. I then
became a Production Team Leader, which involved scheduling jobs through the sheet
metal section of the plant.
I worked on a range of mill and lathe machines in my time at Fraser's
CNC Mill Setter
I worked on the factory floor learning how to set, program and operate industrial CNC machines. This experience allowed me to gain in-depth knowledge as to how metal products are manufactured; which opened my eyes to how important it is to consider the manufacturing techniques when designing a product.

Sheet Metal Production Team Leader
In this position I was in charge of scheduling the various parts for the truck and ensuring they were completed on time. This involved having a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing techniques involved in each product.
Most products followed the construction path seen below, which are simplified steps of the major processes that I helped manage.
1. Laser cut
2. Folded on the press brake
3. Welded together
4. Components assembled as seen in the rendering of a Hosereel and BA Seat
